Man alleges physical assault by rail co-passenger; case filed

Udupi: Manipal police have registered a complaint against a man for allegedly verbally abusing and assaulting a co-passenger on Matsyagandha Lokmanya Tilak express train.
The accused is identified as Chasten Inas Baretto.
The incident took place on January 18 shortly after the train departed from Mangaluru at 14.15 hours.
In his complaint, Kiran Mahadev Borkar, a resident of Yellapur said that the accused picked up a fight with him on the issue of reservation seat as the train crossed Suratkal.
Kiran got down from the train when it arrived at Udupi station in order to register a complaint with the railway police. Baretto, the complainant claimed blocked his way and physically assaulted him.
A case has been registered under sections 341, 323, 504 and 506 of Indian Penal Code.
