Udupi: Woman killed in road accident at Brahmavar

Udupi: A woman, who was critically injured in a road accident at Brahmavar, breathed her last at a hospital in Manipal on Wednesday, January 19.

The deceased has been identified as Saritha Pinto (38), wife of Anil Pinto of Udyavara Ankudru.

On January 17, Saritha, her husband, and her 3-year-old son were on their way riding a scooter to visit Saritha’s parents in Kota. When they reached Brahmavar the scooter kidded. It is gathered that Saritha who was riding pillion received severe head injuries.

All were taken to a private hospital nearby. However, Saritha who received critical head injuries was referred to another hospital in Manipal.  However, she died in the intensive care unit of the hospital without responding to treatment, sources close to the family said.

Fortunately, her husband Anil and son escaped with minor injuries, sources added.

Saritha is survived by her husband, two young children (daughter and son).

A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station in this regard.
