In a freak incident that was reported from Bengaluru’s Palace Road, a brand new Mahindra Thar vehicle that was kept on display at a car showroom here rolled off, broke through the glass wall and crashed into the handrail on the outside.
Luckily the car was saved by the railings else it would have fallen into the driveway or rolled into the road beyond it.
The incident took place when a customer was present at the showroom and was checking out the car features.
Though it’s not clear how the car suddenly rolled off on its own, it is suspected that a salesman who was attending to the customer might have turned on the car ignition and put it in gear but forgot to pull on the handbrake.
The incident took place so suddenly that all were shocked and a commotion prevailed for some time with people assembling around the car. Later the car was removed with help of an earthmover-cum-crane
Police said that they have not received any complaint regarding this incident.
