B’luru: Four including techie and his pregnant wife arrested for abduction of 22-yo woman

Bengaluru: Bengaluru police solved a sensational abduction case of a 22-year-old aerospace engineer who had been held captive for over a week. They not only rescued the victim but also arrested 4 accused involved in the crime.
According to reports, four persons — a software engineer named Parthiban A (34) , his pregnant wife Vasanth A Parthiban (30), his brother-in-law (28), and their driver Mohammad Suleman (25) have been arrested. All are residents of Doddakammanahalli near Hulimavu.
The victim, a native of Haryana, lived in a paying guest accommodation in Electronics city. She was allegedly kidnapped on January 6 and held captive for 8 days till she was rescued at Parthiban’s residence, a report published in TOI said.
On January 6, the accused waylaid the victim’s scooter claiming that she had hit a pedestrian. As the dispute escalated, the victim contacted her father, Vikas, over the phone and shared her location details.
But by the time her father arrived at the spot she had been taken away by her abductors. Her scooter was found abandoned at the spot.
Vikas later received a phone call from the accused asking for a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. Soon after, he filed a complaint with the Hebbagodi police about the abduction, reports said.
After week-long investigation police said they were able to trace the whereabouts of the culprits. they tracked a food delivery order from one of the suspect’s phones and traced their address.
More than 200 officials worked to crack the case in a week’s time, police claimed.
