Mangaluru: Stepping up the attack on the Union government’s act of rejecting the Sree Naryaya Guru tableau proposed by Kerala government for the Republic day parade, Congress MLC B K Hariprasad on Monday said BJP is ‘insulting’ the Guru for getting wiped out in the last assembly elections in Kerala.

Addressing reporters here, he said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel should clarify the exact reason behind the tableau’s rejection.

Hariprasad said Sree Naryana Guru has been insulted by the Centre. In order to portray Narendra Modi as Vishwa Guru, the BJP has always been insulting social reformers, writers, poets and freedom fighters, he alleged.

He said BJP is not ready to accept the Guru’s philosophy of one caste, one religion and one God.

Congress leaders including U T Khader MLA, former MLC Ivan D’Souza and district Congress president Harish Kumar were among those present.
