Bengaluru: An image from the page of a textbook in Karnataka where Malayalam actor Kunchacko Boban was featured depicting a postman has gone viral.

Taking to social media, Boban sarcastically said,” “Anganey Karnatakayil Government Joliyum Set Aayi,’’ (I have a government job in Karnataka).”

Boban had essayed the role of a postman named Raghunandan in the movie “Oridathoru Postman’’.

Also, Bengaluru Rural MP D K Suresh took to Twitter saying, “The standard of education in our state is crumbling under BJP. Students have a reduced syllabus and there is no supervision of the government over teaching.”

“Where are these textbooks being prepared @BCNagesh_bjp & @nimmasuresh ? Are they being done at Keshav Krupa or at the Education Dept? Today, the entire state stands ashamed infront of the nation due to BJPs incompetence,” he added.

However, reacting to the criticism, Former Education Minister Suresh said that it is not an official textbook published by the State education department.

He said, “Don’t rush! Analyse before you comment on any issue! The textbook which has the photo of the Malyalam actor is published by a private company. DK Suresh is just desperately trying to mislead people and malign the BJP government. “
