Uppinangady: Police officials have rescued a woman who was locked up in a house in Kaniyooru village, Piligoodu.

It is said that local Hindu organizations received information about a woman being forcefully locked up by a man named Shamsuddin in Piligoodu. Police officials then launched an operation and rescued the woman.

But the woman claimed that she was not forced and that she willingly went to her friend’s house. After which she was sent home.

Soon after, Shamsuddin filed a police complaint against a few youths and claimed that they forcefully entered his house and threatened him.

Police officials have registered a case against Karthik, Harish, Babu and Devraj. However, the move has drawn criticism from the locals.

They claim that several proofs of the woman being forcefully locked in Shamsuddin’s house have been given to the police officials but they did not take any action against the accused. Now, in turn, they have filed a case against the youths who rescued the woman.
