Bengaluru: Two persons were arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly cheating Rs 78 lakh of two men by asking them to invest in rice pullers and promising huge returns.

The accused have been identified as Vignesh BA (37), a resident of Nagarabhavi, and Nagaraj C (45), a resident of Mulbagal in the Kolar district. Two other suspects are still absconding.

According to the complaint, the accused asked the duo to invest in a vessel with “thunderbolt strike and isotope radiation”, which they claimed they would resell for Rs 100 crores to Japan’s aerospace agency or NASA.

The victims had paid Rs 78.8 lakh to miscreants on January 3.  The victims then realized that they had been conned and registered a cheating case against the accused.

Police have recovered Rs 15 lakh from their possession.
