Bengaluru: A 46-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted, stripped, and robbed by her neighbor over a trivial issue in Bellandur on Friday, February 4.

The victim also alleged that  Bellandur police refused to take her complaint. The police officials allegedly assaulted her son for trying to film the incident.

It is said that on Friday while the victim was sweeping the yard in front of her mother’s house, the neighbour, Ramu Munivenkatappa, without any provocation, attacked her, stripped and started thrashing her.

He was later joined by his son and the victim was assaulted until she passed out. The victim also lost her gold chain worth Rs 1.2 lakh.

Later, her son Gautham who returned from college saw his mother lying unconscious near the house and informed the police officials. The Hoysala police who reached the spot asked them to file a complaint at the Bellandur police station.

The duo reached the station and upon narrating the incident to the officials, they refused to file a complaint. They also thrashed the woman’s son for trying to film them and also made him delete the video.

The woman then approached Police Commissioner Kamal Pant. Pant then took the complaint on Saturday and it was forwarded to the DCP office.

On Monday, the staff of the DCP office asked her to meet the police personnel at Bellandur police station.
