Bengaluru: A strange addiction to “exotic body massage” apparently drove two persons towards burglary.

Vijayanagar Police said they have arrested two persons for breaking into houses and stealing valuables. Apparently, the motive behind the thefts was to raise money for “exotic body massages.”

Police said they have arrested John Melvin (46) and Manjunath (32), both residents of Vijayanagar, for theft and have confiscated 360-gram gold jewelry worth 16 lakhs and 2 two-wheelers from them.

Police said the accused identified houses whose homeowners were away and broke into them. On January 7, the duo broke into a house in Jayanagar and made away with gold and silver stored in a cupboard.

The duo confessed to the crime and said they were addicted to “exotic body massages” and were stealing to raise money for tips for the same. Using the money got from thefts, the duo frequented the massage parlors and tipped massage providers anywhere between Rs 15,000 to 20,000 in cash, police said.

To fulfill their “massage needs” the duo had several houses at Kengeri and Adugodi police station limits. Further investigations are underway.
