Udupi: MLA Raghupati Bhat demands NIA probe into Hijab row

Udupi: MLA Raghupati Bhat called for an NIA investigation into the “anti-national” forces behind the Hijab row that were sowing discord among students.

Talking to media persons on Friday, Rahupati Bhat said that Campus Front of India of aiding and abetting the protesting students. “We have given evidence to the relevant department he said.

The MLA alleged that innocent girls were being brainwashed by “blind faith”  in a religious ideology. He also said that Twitter accounts associated with CFI were espousing “anti-national” content. “They have tweeted that the Muslim community did not get justice in the Babri Masjid issue and they will fight to get it at any cost. I have flagged this information to the home minister and police department. This matter should be handed over to National Investigation Agency (NIA),” he said.

He also alleged that Congress had joined hands with the CFI. The local Muslim leaders have a good relationship with us. “Educated Muslims do not want this kind of friction and want Hindu Muslim unity. It is the outsiders who are disturbing the peace in the city,” he said.
