Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court today began day 4 of the hijab case hearing as schools reopen after a near week-long Hijab row forced holiday in the state.

The three-judge bench comprises Chief Justice of Karnataka HC Ritu Raj Awasthi, Justice Krishna S Dixit, and Justice JM Khazi.

“We may make a request to the media, our earnest request to media is to be more responsible. You are the fourth pillar. Let us make an effort to bring peace and tranquility to the state. We all shall behave as responsible citizens,: the court said.

Senior Advocate Kamat, appearing for the petitioner said that as core religious practices are concerned, they come from Article 25(1) and it is not absolute. He also said if the core religious practices harm or offend public order then it can be regulated.
