Bengaluru: Former Minister UT Khader hit out at Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa over his saffron flag remark.
Speaking to the reporters, Khader said,” KS Eshwarappa has insulted the whole country by insulting our National flag. It is high time that BJP leaders initiate action against Eshwarappa and sack him from the Cabinet. If not then Eshwarappa’s statement will be a party’s statement.”
“He spoke with no respect to the flag, the country and the Constitution. One must be very careful while talking about such things. We will continue our protest against the Minister and will not rest until he is removed from the Cabinet,” he added.
Earlier, Congress legislators spent the whole night inside the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Council, escalating demand for the dismissal of Minister K S Eshwarappa.
KS Eshwarappa had claimed ‘bhagwa dhwaj’ (saffron flag) may become the national flag sometime in the future. However, he had also said tricolor is the national flag now, and it should be respected by everyone, according to PTI.
