Bengaluru: In a gruesome double murder reported from the city, a man killed his wife and mother-in-law and surrendered before police on Tuesday morning.
Ravikumar hacked his wife Savitri and mother-in-law Sarojamma with a machete at their home in Govindaraja Nagar Police station limits.
A domestic dispute is believed to be the cause of murders. After his two children went to school on Tuesday, Ravikumar picked a quarrel with his wife. During the heat of the moment, the accused picked up a machete used for slicing coconuts and slashed at his wife. He also assaulted his mother-in-law who tried to intervene between them.
Thereafter, Ravikumar went straight to the Govindaraja Nagar Police station, narrated what he had done, and surrendered.
Police who went to check on the victims found them dead due to excessive blood loss. The mortal remains were later shifted to Victoria Hospital for an autopsy.
