Ullal: Muslim students protested outside the college in Ullal on Friday as they were denied entry into the premises on the grounds that they were wearing a hijab.

Students sat outside the college gate and demanded the college administration to either grant leave or give them Transfer certificates. They claimed that they will wear Hijab till the High court’s final orders.

Police officials visited the spot and a heated argument ensued between the cops and the students.

MLA UT Khader also visited the college and held a meeting with the college administration. He said that students’ education must be the priority for now and strict measures must be undertaken to untoward incidents.

PU colleges to remain closed till further orders.
