Bengaluru: 22-yr-old caught with 1.5 kg gold paste in knee cap at KIA

Bengaluru: A 22-year-old man was arrested by the customs officials at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru for illegally smuggling gold.

The accused landed at around 2:30 am via Emirates flight EK 568 and during passenger profiling, the customs officials found an unusual band on his thigh.

When he took it off, they found gold paste that was strapped to his thigh using an elastic knee cap.

Officials have recovered after 1.5 kg gold paste worth Rs 75.5 lakh from his possession.

Further investigations are underway.
