Mangaluru: Amid the Hijab vs Saffron shawl row that has snowballed in Dakshina Kannada, an ABVP activist on Monday claimed that he has been receiving death threats from strangers.

Recently, an argument had ensued between a few students and the college principal over the latter allowing Muslim students to wear a cloth around their head and appear for exams in the college.

Sai Sandesh, a student of a government college in Mangaluru alleged that after the video went viral he is constantly getting calls from foreign numbers. Strangers on Instagram, Facebook are also hurling abuses at him.

The college declared a holiday till the issue ceases and normalcy returns to the campus.

A complaint has been filed at the city cyber crime police station.
