Kolar: One person crushed to death while crossing tracks

Kolar: One person was crushed to death and another person sustained minor injuries by a speeding Shatabdi Express (Bengaluru – Chennai) at Tekal railway station near Kolar.
As per South Western Railway (SWR), 21 services were affected between 5.15 am and 9/10 am due to an overhead equipment (OHE) failure.
When passengers of one of the trains, which had stopped on the tracks a little ahead of Tekal station owing to technical issues, were crossing the tracks an express train, arriving from the opposite direction, rammed into one male passenger, killing him instantly.
SWR officials confirmed that a passenger was run over.
SWR Officials informed that 11006 Chalukya Express (Puducherry-Dadar) was detained from 5.10 am to 6.45 am at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal and resumed with diesel loco. 12863 Howrah Yeswantpur Superfast Express was also halted from 6.10 am to 8 am atByappanahalli and resumed journey with diesel loco. 16525 Bengaluru Express(Kanyakumari – KSR Bengaluru City) was stopped at Krishnarajapuram at 6:44amand left at 8.24 am
Other delayed trains were: 12028 Shatabdi Express(Bengaluru- Chennai), 12608 Lalbagh Express( Bengaluru-Chennai), 06556 Jolarpettai-KSR Bengaluru Memu,22692 Rajdhani Express (Hazrat Nizamuddin-KSRBengaluru), 16591 Hampi Express (Hubballi -Mysuru),12785 Kacheguda- Mysuru,11311 Solapur – Hassan Express, 11301 Udyan Express (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus -KSR Bengaluru City), 16572 Bidar –Yeswantpur, 06266Hindupur-KSR Bengaluru Memu, 12214 Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Yeswantpur AC DurontoExpress, 16316 Kochuveli- Mysuru Express, 06264 Marikuppam – KSR Bengaluru MEMU, 15228 Muzaffarpur- Yeswantpur, 06292 Kuppam- KSR Bengaluru MEMU, 12510Guwahati-Bengaluru Cantonment and 22618 KSR Bengaluru-Tirupati intercity.
