B’luru: Illegal dance bar busted in Gandhinagar; 64 women rescued; 9 arrested

Bengaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police said they have busted an illegal dance bar running in the heart of the city in the Gandhinagar area and rescued 64 women.

Owners of the Mood Bar and Restaurant on 5th main road in Gandhinagar were allegedly running an illegal dance bar, where women dancing in skimpy clothes were employed to please the customers, police said.

Nine persons, including 3 employees have been arrested from the bar, and 64 women were rescued, police said, adding that cash worth Rs 1.32 lakh was also seized.

The rescued women were from various parts of the country including 8 from Maharashtra, 6 from Delhi, 8 from Punjab, 13 from Rajasthan, 3 from Madhya Pradesh, 2 from Uttarakhand, 5 from UP, and 2 from West Bengal, police added.
