Bengaluru: Over 30 seized vehicles gutted in fire mishap at two police parking yards

As many as 30 vehicles seized by the police, during thefts, rioting and robbery cases were gutted in two fire incidents on Friday.
The two fire incidents took place at around 10.30 am and 1.30 pm near KG Halli police and Kengeri police station limits respectively.
The fire department got a call at 10.30 am regarding the blaze near KG Halli police station limits and deployed two fire tenders to the spot. The flames were completely doused by 12.30 pm but nearly six vehicles were gutted by then.
An hour later, i.e at 1.30 pm, another fire incident was reported from the parking lot near Kengeri station. Over 18 parked vehicles, including two jeeps were torched in the incident before the flames could be extinguished by the fire department.
As per reports, the fire in one of the parking lots was caused after a few passersby set the dry grass near the railway tracks on fire while the other one was caused after fire started in the engine of one of the cars.
In another instance, 7 cars belonging to a private finance company caught fire at Ayodhya ground in HBR layout of Banaswadi. The fire started in the engine of one of the cars parked at 9 am due to the intense summer heat, later spread to other nearby cars. By the time fire personnel doused the fire, seven cars were completely gutted.
