Mysuru: A 53-year-old man was charred to death after being trapped in a blazing house fire in Seehalli in T.Narsipura here on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Sekharappa, an occupant of one of the houses gutted in the fire.

As per locals, the fire started due to an electric short circuit in a house. The blaze suddenly turned into an inferno, engulfed the entire house, and soon spread to other adjacent houses.

Almost all occupants of the affected houses ran to safety in time. But Seharappa was trapped by the intense fire.

Fire tenders were called in and they put out the fire after a lot of effort. The charred remains of the deceased were later recovered.

The cash, furniture, and other valuables stored in the houses were completely destroyed in the mishap.
