Kundapur: Post Hijab verdict, eleven Muslim students of Kundapur junior college skipped classes on Wednesday, March 16.
It is said that only two girl students wearing Hijabs attended their classes and a separate arrangement has been made for the students to keep their Hijab.
The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday dismissed petitions filed by a section of Muslim students from the Government Pre-University Girls College in Udupi, seeking permission to wear a Hijab inside the classroom, saying the headscarf is not a part of the essential religious practice in the Islamic faith.
Following which the girls said that they will not go to college without hijab and fight the case legally till they get ”justice”. They also claimed the verdict was ‘unconstitutional’.
