Ullal: Accused who stabbed cop arrested

Ullal: The man who stabbed a police officer here has been arrested by city cops.

The arrested is identified as Nasir.

The police officer was stabbed by a man, who is accused in several theft cases, while he was attempting to arrest him from Pavoor village, Kavoor.

The man identified as Saddik is accused of stealing high-end watches and later reselling them for profits.

The police had received a tip regarding his whereabouts and Konaje police sub-inspector (PSI) Sharanappa raided his house. When he tried to arrest Saddik, he stabbed the policeman with a knife and escaped from the spot.

The injured policeman had been admitted at K S Hegde Hospital at Deralakatte.
