World’s first foodverse is here

We’ve all dreamt about a world in which we could download food at the touch of a button. While this may take some time, techies are already working on integrating the metaverse into the real world. So, how does it work, you might wonder? You win some points playing an online game and then go to the nearby restaurant (preferably the offline equivalent of the metaverse restaurant you were playing at) to claim your prize.
Start-up in India OneRare is a blockchain-based NFT Economy game that is creating the food metaverse by combining components of food, gaming, and NFTs.
This year, brands like Pringles and Taco Bell generated a different type of buzz. Taco Bell debuted the Spicy Potato Soft Tacos, while Pringles debuted CryptoCrisp, a new limited-edition flavour.
However, none of these items were edible. They were just NFT artworks or digital collectibles.
At a time when celebrities, sports leagues, and corporations are hopping on the NFT bandwagon, an Indian start-up called OneRare, created by husband-and-wife team Supreet Raju and Gaurav Gupta, is creating the “Foodverse,” or food metaverse, on the blockchain ecosystem.
NFTs, digital or virtual currencies, and assets can all be traded in the Metaverse, which is a digital domain. NFTs (non fungible tokens) are a special type of digital collectible that can be bought and traded using virtual currencies.
The company recently released ORARE, a native token that can be used to transact and play the game. The company stated that it is now in the pre-launch stage and that the entire and final game will be released in a month.
The Farm, Farmers Market, Kitchen, and Playground are among the four play zones in the Foodverse, which offer a variety of gameplay options.
Raju informed, “Ingredients and dishes will be available in the form of NFTs. Players will be able to collect the ingredients by following real recipes and claim dishes in the form of NFTs, which can then be used to battle in mini games in the playground,”
Users will be able to raise constituent crops on their farms, sell and exchange them in farmers markets, and then follow recipes in the kitchen to combine ingredients to make mint delicacies in the form of NFTs.
Global cuisines, keto and vegan items, and celebrity chef specialty meals may all be found in The Foodverse.
