Byndoor: RSS and Hindu leader, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat on Monday said that a ritual dedicated to Tipu Sultan who mocked Hindu gods and destroyed temples during his reign is an insult to our gods.
Bhat said, ” The Salaam Mangalarathi ritual must end soon. If not, then there may be a time when a ritual will be named after ‘Allahu Salaam’. Temples should reflect our traditions and practices so that our future generation learn to respect our culture.”
Talking about the ban on Muslim traders during Hindu festivals, he said, “The rule was passed in 2002 during S M Krishna-led Congress government. Muslims are not allowed to come near our temples. Let them trade near their mosques.”
