TN BJP Chief Annamalai gets ‘Y’ category security

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai has been accorded ‘Y’ category security by the Union government.

According to a report by news agency ANI, the Ministry of Home Affairs has given ‘Y’ category CRPF security cover to Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai in the state. This security would be over and above the security cover provided to him by the state police.

A report in The Hindu newspaper said that Annamalai would be protected round-the-clock by armed Personal Security Officers drawn from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Security Branch CID of the State police. Security cover for Mr. Annamalai was enhanced after a detailed assessment of his threat perception, the report added quoting sources.
