Deceased contractor’s family arrives in Udupi; says funeral only after KSE’s arrest

Udupi: The family members Santhosh Patil, who had allegedly taken his own life at a lodge here, arrived in the city late at night on April 12.

Santhosh Patil had been found dead in a hotel opposite the KSRTC bus stand in Udupi on Tuesday. reportedly, he had left behind a death note blaming Karnataka minister K S Eshwarappa for his death.

Hours after the incident, Prashant, the brother of Santhosh, told reporters in Belagavi that the mortal remains of the deceased will not be cremated unless Eshwarappa isn’t arrested. “He (Santhosh) has a one-year-old son and a wife. We will not conduct his funeral rites before Eshwarappa is arrested,” he said.

He also claimed that Eshwarappa and his brother were good friends and accused the minister of lying about not knowing about Santhosh.
