Bengaluru: Frustrated with her alcoholic son-in-law’s quarrels, a woman allegedly tried to kill him with an iron rod in Bengaluru.

The mother-in-law Parvathamma (60) has been arrested, while the son-in-law Keshav (44) is battling life and death at the hospital.

The incident occurred at the residence of Keshav in Andrahalli, where he lived with his wife Shakuntala and two kids. His mother-in-law also lived with them for the past 15 years.

It is gathered that Keshav picked fights with his wife and mother-in-law every day after getting drunk. The family was fed up with his unruly behavior.

On Saturday, Keshav started quarreling with his wife and proceeded to physically assault her. Upset and frustrated by this, Parvathamma hit him on the head with an iron rod. Critically, injured Keshav was later rushed to a hospital.

Parvathamma has been arrested for the almost-fatal assault, police said.
