Bengaluru: The owners of the Hindavi Meat mart have received notices from BBMP for running the establishment without the proper license.
Hindavi Meat Mart was one of the foremost organizations promoting the jhatka cut during the height of the controversy in the state.
It is gathered that the BBMP has served notices to the establishment for not procuring the required licenses for running meat shops. A week’s time is provided for the owners to get the requisite permissions from the city corporation, the notice says.
BBMP had reportedly received several complaints about the establishment being run without authorization. There were also complaints that proper safety and cleanliness procedures, required per law, were not being followed.
Mandatory annual health inspection certificates of the workers have also not been submitted, said Joint Director of BBMP Dr. SM Manjunath Shinde.
Meanwhile, the owner of Hindavi Meat Mart, Munegowda, assured that all permissions will be obtained from the BBMP. The outlets are open at Ullal, Jnanabharati, Kammanahalli, Horamavu, Indiranagar, Bannerghatta, and Nelagadaranahalli, he said.
