Locals blamed the accident on the unauthorized parking of the heavy vehicles at the toll plaza. Heavy vehicles halt at the plaza for taking a rest and for refreshments. In the absence of parking facilities, drivers leave the heavy trucks in the middle of the road.
Locals also balmed the unauthorized shops that have come up on both sides of the road for the present situation. They urged for the immediate eviction of unauthorized businesses.
Thursday’s accident seems to have woken up the toll plaza officials from their slumber. The officials assured to undertake an eviction drive from Friday.
Meanwhile, Padubidri police have registered a case against the driver of the bullet tanker, identified as Karthikeyan.
