Haveri: Family throws baby showers for their pet dog!

Haveri: It is traditional practice to host baby showers for the expectant mothers in most parts of the world. However, a unique baby shower held in the city has surprised many.

A video of a family hosting a baby shower for their pet dog has gone viral on social media.

The not-so-ordinary occasion was celebrated at the residence of Akshay Kumar in Ranibennur in the district. The family had sent out invites for the baby showers of their beloved dog, Ruby.

On an auspicious day, Ruby was draped in a saree, sported kumkuma powder on the forehead, and even wore the traditional glass bangles on its wrists — all keeping to traditions of followed fro human expectant mothers. An array of her favorite snacks were also prepared.

The family also had arranged for a scrumptious meal for the invited guests.

The video footage has caught the fancy of pet lovers. Who knows, the trend might catch on?
