Kalaburgi: A magistrate court issued arrest warrants against six accused, including prime accused Divya Hagargi, in the PSI CET scam.
Divya is the head of Jnanajyoti English Medium School of Kalaburgi. CID had already arrested 12 persons including Hagaragi’s husband.
Reportedly, the FIRs had been filed against the six accused in the court a few days ago.
The CID pleaded in court to issue arrest warrants against Divya Hagaragi, Manjunath Melakundi, Ravindra Melakundi, Archana, Kashinath and Shantabai, which would enable the investigating agencies to arrest the accused, who were absconding for over 10 days.
The CID argued that the accused may tamper with evidence if they were allowed to remain free.
The CID registered a case on April 9 after it was discovered that marks were forged by a few aspirants. One of the candidates who appeared for the examination at Hagrangi’s school had answered only 21 questions on his OMR sheet leaving others blank, however, scored 100 marks and secured the seventh.
The student told police during that investigation that he had paid Rs 36 lakh to forge his OMR sheet, which resulted in the investigation.
