Bengaluru: Girinagar police have arrested two women who allegedly drugged a woman and stole her jewelery from her home while she was unconscious.

The accused, identified as Geeta (37) from Srinagara and Bharati Bai (30), were arrested, police said. Gold jewellery weighing 82 grams was seized from them, police added.

The theft occurred at the house of Sowbhagya, in Hosakerehalli, police said.

The accused Geeta and the victim struck a friendship when they were co-workers. On April 26, Geeta had visited Sowbhagya’s residence asking for referrals about any jobs.

The next day, when Sowbhagya returned home from work, Geeta and Bharati were waiting for her at the main door. They asked to be let in. Once in the house, the accused spiked Sowbhagya’s drinks with drugs that made her unconscious. Thereafter, they stole the gold and fled from the spot, police said.
