Musk plans to charge fee for using Twitter!

New York: After taking over Twitter, Elon Musk now plans to charge niche customers for using the social media and microblogging platform.

In a Tweet on Tuesday, Musk broke the news. “Twitter will always be free for casual users, but maybe a slight cost for commercial/government users,” the tweet read.

“Ultimately, the downfall of the Freemasons was giving away their stonecutting services for nothing,” in another tweet continuing the thread.

This move is seen as an attempt to extend the subscriber base of the platform from niche to the public at large, all the while driving up the revenues, a report in Reuters said.

However, there was no official comment from Twitter Inc.

Musk has been announcing a slew of changes to Twitter after buying out the company. He said he wanted to add new features to the platform, control spam bots, authenticate human users, and open-source Twitter algorithms for enhancing transparency and trust.
