Bengaluru: Police officials have registered a case against a woman for cheating 3 people of Rs 36 lakh by promising good returns in an investment scam in Bengaluru.
The accused has been identified as Mahalakshmi (42), owner of Mahalakshmi enterprises. She is still absconding.
It is said that the accused was a sugar dealer and asked the victims to invest in the deal to get good returns.
The woman claimed that she has good contacts with the senior ministers and promised to help them in exchange for their investment.
However, even after several days, the accused did not return the money and also stopped receiving their calls. Following this, a case was registered against her.
