Malpe: The recreational boat services to the Saint Mary’s island have been temporarily suspended from Monday.
Due to the cyclone Asani brewing in the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea has also turned rough. Met department has warned people not to venture into the seas.
The high sea waves have made boat rides unsafe. Hence, the speed boats ferrying tourists have been suspended temporarily.
The services will be resumed once the effects of the cyclone recede, officials said.
The deep-sea fishing boats have returned ashore due to high winds and sea waves. Fishermen said that the sea has turned rough, with massive waves hampering fishing activity.
