Revenge for personal enmity: 5 arrested for conspiracy

Bengaluru: Hennur police have arrested five persons on charges of conspiring to create unrest in the society.

The arrested accused had amassed several weapons, and crude petrol bombs to kill Saraipalya resident and rowdy sheeter Mohammed Azeemuddin alias Babu due to personal enmity, police said.

Police have confiscated 10 petrol bombs, a country-made gun, one live bullet, and several lethal weapons from the accused.

Police said Babu had forcefully vacated the rented accommodation of the main accused Fayaz. To exact revenge for the humiliation and financial loss caused, Fayaz joined hands with Syed Asgar and Munavvar. They secretly stored the weapons and planned to assassinate Babu, police added.

Bhimashankar Guled, DCP eastern division, denied the claims that the accused were planning to kill a Hindu activist to incite violence, as claimed by some media reports. The conspiracy was to exact personal revenge, he clarified.
