Kadaba police have arrested a youth in connection with a robbery incident at Pallathadka in Bantra village here.

The arrested has been identified as Hakim (23), a resident of Mardala.

On February 22, Hakim along with one other person identified as Hamid had broken into the residence of Balakrishna Rai through the back door and made away with Rs 66,000 in cash.

Hakim’s aide Hamid has been apprehended by the Bengaluru police earlier in connection with another case.

The duo, police said, became acquainted at a hotel where Hakeem was employed. Hamid used to frequent the hotel and they planned the theft together and chose Rai, who owns a shop as their victim. They then began tracking movements of Rai to execute their plan.

Police personnel under the guidance of Kadaba SI Anjaneya Reddy arrested the accused.
