Bengaluru: Congress stands in support of DGP Dr Ravindranath who has tendered his resignation, said KPCC president D K Shivakumar on Wednesday.
Shivakumar demanded the immediate dismissal of Minister Prabhu Chauhan and CM’s political secretary Renukacharya.
IPS officer P Ravindranath submitted his resignation on Tuesday citing harassment as the reason.
Addressing a press conference here, Shivakumar said that as DGP of the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement, Ravindranath had issued notices to several persons for availing fake caste certificates. “Following this, he was transferred abruptly. He has now resigned from the service,” he said and urged the government not to accept the officer’s resignation.
Further, the Congress leader said if Dr. Ravindranath had issued any notice to Siddaramaiah’s close aide Kempaiah. “Whoever has done wrong should be punished,” he added.
