Veteran folk scholar Dr. T N Shankaranarayana passes away

Shivamogga: Veteran folk scholar and litterateur Dr. T N Shankaranarayana who was undergoing treatment at a hospital for the last few days breathed his last on Wednesday, May 11.

He worked as a folk expert in the Kannada Bharatiya department at Kuvempu University in Shivamogga district for 30 years.

He was also selected for the ‘Siribelagu award’ presented by the Siriajji foundation. The award ceremony was scheduled to be held on May 29.

Shankaranarayana who served as the chairman of Karnataka Sangha Shivamogga will be remembered for his immense contribution to literature.

His last rites will be held at the ARB colony in Shivamogga.
