PSI exam scam: CID raids homes of six accused; Bank documents seized

Bengaluru: A team of CID officials on Saturday raided the homes of  DySP Shanthakumar and five other accused allegedly involved in the PSI exam scam.

It is gathered that huge transactions took place in the cheating, and CID officials were on the hunt for the bank details and other proof of these transactions during the raids.

Searches were conducted at the houses of the six accused — including DySP Shanthakumar, Manjunath, Harsha, Lokesh, and Sridhar of the recruitment wing — in Bengaluru and other places Inspection of houses belonging to accused in various districts including Bangalore.

Documents including passports, mobile SIM cards, hard disks, pen drives, property documents, and bank-related documents were confiscated in the raids, sources said.

Kalaburagi: CID officials on Saturday searched the Gyan Jothi English Medium School and the home of its headmaster Kashinath in connection with the PSI exam fraud.

Sources said CID officials failed to retrieve CCTV footage from school premises. They did not receive any credible answers from Kashinath as well, sources added.

Meanwhile, Congress leader and legislator Priyank Kharge alleged that the real kingpins were not made part of the investigation. The persons arrested so far were not the real ringleaders of the scam, he said and added that the minister and higher officials involved in the scam should be investigated.
