Only a day after KGF producer Vijay Kiragandur piqued fans’ interest in a third instalment of the blockbuster franchise, executive producer Karthik Gowda has reversed his position. He announced on social media on behalf of the production business Hombale Films that KGF: Chapter 3 will not begin ‘anytime soon.’ Yash played the lead in both KGF: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. At the box office, the films grossed 250 crores and 1170 crores, respectively.

There has been rumour for weeks that work on KGF: Chapter 3 has started. Yash added fuel to the fire when he revealed in an interview that he and director Prasanth Neel had discussed various portions from the film. Producer Vijay Kiragandur even provided a release date for the picture, stating, “We aim to start shooting later this year.”

However, Karthik Gowda’s tweet appears to contradict this.

He wrote, “The news doing the rounds are all speculation. With a lot of exciting projects ahead of us, we @hombalefilms will not be starting #KGF3 anytime soon. We will let you know with a bang when we start the work towards it.”

For the unversed, Rocky (Yash) emerged from obscurity to become the emperor of the gold-mining empire at Kolar Gold Fields in the KGF flicks. Srinidhi Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Anant Nag, and Prakash Raj also star in KGF Chapter 2.
