Schools in Karnataka all set to reopen today

Bengaluru: Classes for the academic year 2022-23 will begin from Monday across Karnataka. Schools across Karnataka are all set to reopen about 15 days earlier than the usual schedule.
The government has announced the launch of a “learning recovery programme”. The academic year is also special because of the roll-out of the new curriculum under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the state. NEP will be implemented in about 20,000 Anganwadis.
On Sunday, Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh told reporters that the Anganwadi teachers have been given adequate training to kick start the new NEP curriculum.
He also said that the early start of the academic year will help students compensate for learning deficiencies due to the pandemic lockdowns.
As the schools reopen for offline classes, private schools in the state have increased the prescribed fees. Fees have been hiked by about 10 to 15 percent from the fees in 2019.
