Mangaluru: The Vishva Hindu Parishad has decided to hold an Ashtamangala ritual to seek answers about the temple-like traces found at the mosque at Malali in Ganjimata.
When the old mosque structure of the Assayid Abdulahil Madani Juma Masjid was being demolished, a wooden structure resembling a temple was observed. VHP claimed that the structure resembles the interior architecture of a temple. So, an Ashtamangala ritual has been planned to know the religious significance of the place, VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell said.
It has been decided to summon a Poduval from Kerala, but the exact date of holding the ritual is yet to be decided.
After the structure was discovered, the mosque renovation was stopped and the district authorities had ordered the inspection of land records related to the site.
