Bengaluru: One person was killed and three others injured when an out-of-control car plowed into pedestrians near Kathriguppe junction here on Friday morning.
The pedestrian identified as Suresh (28) died at a private hospital due to injuries suffered in the accident. The remaining 3 are undergoing treatment at a hospital, sources said.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the accident occurred at around 7.30 AM. The car moving from Kathriguppe junction towards Ittamadu was being driven rashly, at high speed. Out of control, the car rammed into Sachin, Shivaraju, Suresh, and Shailendra who were walking on the footpath, tossing them into the air.
The car also hit several parked vehicles – including a car and two motorbikes. It came to a halt after hitting a pole.
West traffic police later arrested Mukesh, who was driving the car, and are continuing the investigation.
