Kumble: Knife-wielding duo robbed a housewife in broad daylight in Uppala here on May 20.

The robbers – a man and a woman – arrived at the house of Bashir near Uppala School at Anchikatte on a scooter at around noon time on Friday. They inquired with the housewife about another member of the household.

When the woman turned to call for the person, the man approached the woman, brandished a knife, and ordered the woman to hand over the jewelry she was wearing. The woman complied.

Seeing a male member of the household was coming their way from the first floor of the house, the robbers fled from the spot.

Manjeshwar police have registered a case. Further investigations are underway.
