Mesmerized by the grandeur of ‘Incredible India,’ Norwegian diplomat and former politician Erik Solheim couldn’t resist sharing a gorgeous view of Shimla on Twitter, He wrote, “This is not Europe, but clean and green Shimla.”

The photo, taken during blue hour at the famed hill station, depicts a meandering street with mist hanging over a succession of traditional European-style residences, as uploaded by the former Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme.

The Norwegian gained internet fame earlier this week after sharing a gorgeous aerial photo of a coastal road in Karnataka, which he dubbed the “World’s most beautiful cycling path.”

It depicts the Maravanthe beach in Byndoor, Karnataka’s Udupi district, near the town. The Arabian Sea to the west and the Sauparnika River to the east flank the beach, which is located along Udupi’s shoreline.

Solheim, 67, is a former politician who led the ministries of International Development and Environment in the Norwegian government from 2005 until 2012. He was later appointed as the United Nations’ Under-Secretary-General and the Executive Director of UNEP, a position he held from 2016 to 2018.
