Kalaburagi: Kalaburagi district in-charge minister and Minister for large and medium industries Murugesh Nirani informed the public that strict action will be taken against the killers of Dalit youth in Kalaburagi.
A Dalit youth, Vijaya Kamble of Bheema Nagar Layout in Waditown, had been murdered on Wednesday allegedly due to his love affair with a woman of a different faith. The situation in the district was tense after Kamble’s dead body was found near the railway bridge.
Speaking to reporters, Nirani said that soon after the incident, the police swung into action and arrested the culprits. “We will take legal action against the accused as per law,” he added.
Further, the minister accused the opposition, Congress and JDS, of playing politics in the name of the Dalit youth. “Some people are calculating profits and losses,” he said.
“They (opposition) are trying to use the issue as a political tool,” he alleged and added that the opposition parties are only looking for “political gains while the government is “focusing on providing justice to the family of the deceased youth.”
The minister also reiterated that none involved in the crime will be spared.
