Belthangady: Gang assaults auto driver over rumours

Belthangady: An auto-rickshaw driver was assaulted by a gang near Sauthadka Ganapati temple over rumours that he had married a Hindu girl.
Reportedly there were rumours about a Hindu girl, who often visited Sauthadka Ganapati temple had tied the knot with an auto driver of another community of Kokkada.
On May 27 the gang noticed the victim talking to the woman passenger he had dropped at the temple and decided to teach him a lesson.
Upon getting information, Dharmasthala police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
