Davanagere: Former chairman of the textbook revision committee Baraguru Ramachandrappa has appealed to the chief minister to intervene and put an end to all confusion over the textbook revision issue.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Ramachandrappa said that the intervention of the Chief Minister was necessary for the academic dignity to survive.
Last time also the textbooks were revised as per National Curriculum Framework to fulfill the spirit of the Indian Constitution. An explanation for the inclusion or exclusion of text was also provided, he said.
Further, the academician said that the dropping of several lessons in the revised textbooks will be unfair to Kannada students.
Reacting to a question, Ramachandrappa said that he was hurt by the personal attack on him about the textbooks. “I am not the kind of a person who will stoop to their level,” he added.
